FIFTY SHADES OF CELL DEATH

Cells in our body continuously die during the natural process of shaping our organs, in maintaining tissue homeostasis and removing unwanted cells. The field originated with apoptosis, but now there are multiple ways leading to cell death. These processes are finely regulated and they can influence the surrounding tissue, the immune response, and disease initiation/progression. Thus, a better understanding of these biological process, and the molecular mechanisms underlying them, could be crucial from both a basic and translational point of view. The goal of EWCD is to bring together junior researchers to showcase their novel findings and facilitate discussion of all facets pertaining to areas of cell death.
