Description

Dr. Ros is the leader of the Integrative Cell death group at the Membrane Department, Max Planck of Biophysics, Frankfurt.
She received her bachelor (2004) and a master (2007) in Biochemistry at the University of Havana, Cuba, and her PhD in Biology (2012) at the same University. After her PhD, she became a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation vising the Membrane Biophysics lab of the Interfaculty Institute of Biochemistry Tubingen, and later a staff scientist at the CECAD, Cologne.
Her group aims to unravel the general principles that explain the link between membrane damage and different forms of regulated cell death and signaling pathways. She uses an integrative approach that combines multiscale screening methods with state-of-the-art molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, and membrane biophysics to develop novel strategies to therapeutically target inflammatory diseases.
